2024-2025 Season Referee Information

Junior  Referees  (Tier  1)  (referee  ages  11,12  and  first  year  referees):  These  are  for  U8  and  below.  Unless  otherwise  granted  referees  should  only  sign  up  for    these  age  groups.  Do  not  sign  up  for  the  mentor  position;  this  is  for  a  senior  referee.

• Unlicensed  Center/Non  Certified  Referee  (Tier  2)*-Games  will  be  U10  and  up.    Referee  ages  13  and  up  with  permission.  $20  per  game.
• Unlicensed/Non-Certified  Assistant  Referee(Tier  2)*-Games  will  be  U10  and  up.    Referee  ages  13  and  up  with  permission.  $15  per  game.
• 1st  year  Licensed/Certified  Referee(Tier  3)-  $25  per  game  any  position.  Please  try  and  schedule  for  U10  and  up.  If  there  is  a  need  in  U8  and  below  we  will  reach  out.
• Senior  Certified  Referee  (Tier  4)  (more  than  1  year  of  licensing)-  $35  per  game  any  position.  Please  try  and  schedule  for  U10  and  up.  If  there  is  a  need  in  U8  and  below  we  will  reach  out.

*This  is  the  last  season  PRTSC  will  utilize  unlicensed/non  certified  referees  that  are  over  13  years  old.  

The  club  will  not  accept  licensing  through  online  only  certification  portion  of  the  grassroots  training,  for  those  that  do  not  meet  the  qualifications  listed  on  the  US  Soccer  Website  as  follows:  “This  course  is  designed  to  be  an  alternative  entry  point  to  the  Referee  Pathway.  It  is  designed  for  first-time  referees  who  have  experience  as  a  Coach,  Player  in  competitive,  High  School,  or  Collegiate  level,  or  former  referees  who  have  not  been  certified  for  over  three  years.  There  is  no  field  session  required.  However,  we  strongly  encourage  all  candidates  to  attend  a  Field  Session.”

It  will  be  up  to  the  club  board  members  to  determine  the  readiness  of  each  referee.  The  board  reserves  the  right  to  adjust  tier,  pay  level  and  assignments  based  on  referee  readiness.
